Be it through Facebook walls, Twitter feeds or Instagram comments, the majority of our interactions, even when ostensibly shared with a single individual, are played out in front of a general admission crowd. Simply put, the private conversation is, like, soooo 20th Century. The open letter that your wrote to your former CEO, Yelp co-founder Jeremy Stoppelman, on Saturday is, in many ways, emblematic of how our digital generations communicate. What better place to start than with your epic week, which can and should offer a teachable moment to you and your fellow Millennials.

It will subside with time, experience, and the premium foreign liquors that will gradually replace those three dollar six packs of your collegiate years, which will converge to afford you the opportunity for reflection, and ultimately, growth. The discombobulating sensation you feel that dizzying mash-up of of adrenaline and nausea? That’s just your body and soul re-calibrating to the weight of the powers and responsibility that come along with your newly minted adult (eDult?) status.

You went viral! And you got fired! That’s the twenty-something equivalent of that glorious week in middle school when you got your braces off AND your first kiss! (Amazing how those two life events tend to come together, and in precisely that sequence.) Congratulations, you are now officially a modern grown-up. Kudos on your big week! In the space of just three days, you successfully reached two touchtones of coming of age in the 21st Century.
